Electronic communication containing sexual material, known as sexting, has been a very controversial problem nowadays, especially when it involves young people. This topic meets our subject of study when deciding whether sexting should be criminalised. Even when going through Crown Prosecution Services and responding to the main factors about evidence and public interest, this matter is very debated and varies in each country. The involvement of minors in self-production and distribution of erotic pictures and movies that circulate the internet has been a great focus of media attention and social concern. This participation in such actions generates, in some jurisdictions, their prosecution under child pornography, which is under constant criticism. Young people use a lot of technologies in a daily basis, and it has its benefits: opportunities for communication, community involvement and exposure to other views/opinions. It is also important that there are forums related to sexuality where kids can explore sexually related questions. However, sexting became too much among young people. Sexting is usually linked to cyber-bulling, school harassment and suicide, as well as domestic violence, as the circulation of explicit images is made to humiliate, abuse and stalk.
